Pipeline and Hazardous Safety Administration (PHMSA) Random Testing

All PHMSA regulated employees covered by part 192, 193, or 195 which outlined as part of the DOT Procedures which outlines specific requirements by 199.101 Anti-drug and 199.202 Alcohol misuse plan must implement a random drug and alcohol testing program that requires all safety sensitive personnel to be subject to testing throughout the year. If you have questions on which employees need to be a part of the random pool, please ask one of our specialists.  The current rate for PHMSA random drug and alcohol testing is:

50% of the average number of covered positions for Federal 5-Panel (DOT urine) per year

Alcohol is subject to the employer.

Upon enrollment you will receive monthly or quarterly random list based off the information you set forth from the safety sensitive employee pool and will be sent a computer-generated random list and reminders mid quarter if you have fallen short of the goal for the designated timeframe.
